| Joining Creekwood |
Creekwood United Methodist Church invites you to discover the joy of belonging to a community of believers,
growing in your knowledge and experience of God's love, and serving people in the name of Jesus Christ.
New Member Classes are held every 8 to 10 weeks. You will share your decision to join on the last Sunday of the New Member Class and the Vows of Membership will be given to close the session. (If you are unable to attend the sessions in sequence you may make up that session at the next round of classes. You may still join during the last session of your class.) We like to introduce our new members at a subsequent Sunday morning during the worship services.
If you belong to another United Methodist Church
Following the New Member Classes, if you decide to join Creekwood UMC, just let us know and we will write the United Methodist Church holding your membership and request a transfer for you.
If you belong to another demonination
Following the classes wherein you share your decision to unite with the United Methodist Church and join Creekwood UMC, we will write the church holding your membership and request a transfer. The United Methodist Church honors baptisms from other christian denominations, so you will not be baptized again.
If you are not a member of any church and you have been baptized
You may join by "profession of faith." You will be invited to take the vows of church membership when you attend the New Member Classes .
You may be baptized during a morning worship service. Once baptized, you will then take the vows of church membership, joining the church by "profession of faith."
You can walk down the isle at the close of a Sunday morning worship service and commit to joining Creekwood and then attend the New Member Classes.
