Creekwood C.A.R.E.S
Whether
you feel called to pray or need prayer, feel called to care or need care, feel
called to cook for your church family or need a helping hand from your church
family, Creekwood U.M.C. desires to show care. Creekwood C.A.R.E.S.
is a ministry that offers a place for members to serve and be served.
Care Ministry: Individuals
that are committed to caring for the people of
our congregation as well as the community
Prayer Ministry: Individuals
that are committed to praying for our congregational & community needs. The Prayer Ministry encompasses
different opportunities to lift up the needs of our church and community in
prayer. The Prayer Team includes individuals that are
committed to praying for our congregational and community needs. Each week the prayers that are
submitted to the church through the worship pads or email are lifted up by this
team.
Prayer Pager Ministry: The
Prayer Pager Ministry offers
pagers to those suffering in
various times of crisis. A family member or friend may call an assigned number to a pager and
simply enter his or her zip
code. Within minutes of the call, the pager gently vibrates
and displays the sender's zip
code, letting the recipient know
(feel) that another prayer has been offered on the recipient's behalf.
Prayer Quilts Ministry: Prayer
quilts are made with love by members of Creekwood and are available for those
undergoing a deep prayer concern.
Catering Ministry:
Creekwood has a group of people that cooks for the needs of individuals in
the church or community in a grieving or crisis situation.
Divorce Care Ministry-Divorce Care and Divorce Care for
Kids, a 13 week course, designed to help those recovering from the hurt of
separation or divorce.
Brother's Keeper Ministry
"Take my yoke upon you
and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for
your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Matthew 11:29-30
Brother's Keeper is a fund set up to
assist those in our congregation with extraordinary financial needs or
emergency support. Those in need can
confidentially contact either Rev. Holly Bandel at hbandel@creekwoodumc.org or Rev. Mike Haynes at mhaynes@creekwoodumc.org to inquire about
a current need of assistance. The hope
is to help bridge the burden during a difficultt time.
Once a year, the communion offering is
designated for Brother's Keeper but assistance is needed year round. As a member, you can contribute to this
ongoing emergency fund by simply designating a check (made out to Creekwood
UMC) to Brother's Keeper Fund, attention Rusty
Nickols.
If you are someone in our congregation
in need - let us lend a hand to you in this trying time!
